Sunset Cove

"One of our many favourite homes to come out of 2020. This split level home is designed perfectly to utilise every inch of this block."

Sitting on the Sunset Cove of Newlands Arm, this home has the most calming feel, it honestly is an escape into the peaceful tree tops.

The teak 'look' timber featuring on the exterior, represents the clients love for mid century modern design and tied with the beautiful Linseed paint for the facade - a gorgeous colour palette to sit in the natural surroundings.

A lot of elements are taken into consideration when designing your home. Which is why we design each home individually. We don’t only use standard floor plans that may not suit you and your block of land!

Some things that were taken into consideration with this design are included below.

With a vacant block next door, during the design stage of this home consideration was taken for a future neighbour.

We needed to achieve a balance of privacy, while still taking in that natural light. Plus of course utilising those lake views.

By using highlight windows on the Western side, we were able to block off the view of a future neighbour building next door, and still let in plenty of light.

With a sloping block, we created a split level, double storey home.

With entry on one level with your Master Bedroom and Ensuite,  with the upper level taking you into the kitchen and living absorbing those beautiful views.

Stepping down to an entirely separate level, the lowest wing of the home isolated to be a sanctuary for guests, with extra bedrooms, lounge with a private balcony and bathrooms.

Walking through this home with all that natural light and timber features creates a beautiful feeling of continuity.

It was a pleasure to bring this home to life and we are sure these owners will create many happy memories in it with their friends and family coming to stay in the Gippsland Lakes.

As you step inside, the home speaks crisp coastal composure,  with balconies on both levels, a cool breeze seeps in through the trees.

Perfectly designed for having a few guests over in the warmer months - opening up those big stacking sliders by LEGG Windows & Doors,  an enjoy the indoor / outdoor alfresco and living areas.

Using a simple palette is a great option if you are nervous of making irrational colour choices that you believe will 'date' or won't make the home valuable for 're-sale' which may be something lurking in the back of your mind throughout the design and development a new build.

However, make sure the design elements of your home are authentic to you and suit your lifestyle, we guarantee that when you make a colour or feature selection that is something you have visioned for a long time, you won't regret it and it is more likely enhance  a homes point of sale.

The clients picked a cool white which contrasts coherently with the warm
tones of the Victorian Ash internal use of timber features.
