GENERAL MANAGER

After completing his apprenticeship with Gary Blay at Blay Builders, Zack moved to Melbourne to extend his career in the construction industry. Working on large commercial projects, Zack gained valuable experience in all facets of the construction industry.

 

Zack returned back to East Gippsland in 2011 to set up  a building business with his brother Xavier. From there they continued to grow and in 2014 were provided the opportunity to return and purchase the Blay Builders Brand together. 

 

Zack's role at Blay Builders is General Manager - Construction, overseeing each project from inception to completion. Zack manages all of the trades and suppliers. With a passion for quality - you can be assured Zack will be constructing your home to the highest standard. You will see Zack regularly throughout the construction of your home

 

Together with his wife and two daughters they have a love for the outdoors and East Gippsland. Zack enjoys spending time fishing in our lakes, camping and mountain bike riding. 
 

After completing secondary education locally, Xavier was fortunate enough to score an apprenticeship with renowned Local craftsman – Peter Ammitzboll. Following completion of his apprenticeship, Xavier started a small carpentry business servicing clients throughout East Gippsland.

 

With a thirst for disrupting the new home building market in East Gippsland, Xavier attained his Builders Registration and commenced constructing homes for clients looking for something a little different.

 

Currently, Xavier’s focus is innovation and Client relationships, meaning you’re assured some time with Xavier at several stage’s throughout your journey. Xavier truly believes each new home journey is unique and should be one that is bursting with positive and memorable experiences.

 

Residing in Lake Tyers Beach, Xavier enjoys spending time with his Wife, 2 Kids and Golden Retriever, anywhere outside.

LEN

QUALITY CONTROL

Len prides himself on excellent customer relations and attention to detail. Len has worked in the building industry for 35 years and Blay Builders for 9.

 

Len's wealth of experience has been in both running his own team of trades and as a senior supervisor for a number of years.

 

As our Quality Controller you will be involved with Len from the design phase right through to handover of your home and warranty period.

 

Len's meticulous work ethic ensures highly organised building projects and makes sure the projects are built on time  and to the quality we pride ourselves on. Blay Builders find his experience invaluable
 

SITE SUPERVISOR

LIONEL

Lionel is our site supervisor for the eastern region of our business. He commenced his apprenticeship at Blay Builders in 2004 and has been involved in building ever since. After returning from 3 years of working on large residential projects in Melbourne in 2010, Lionel re-joined Blay Builders as a leading carpenter helping train and lead a number of apprentices along the way.

 

With 16 years’ experience in the building industry Lionel's knowledge and eye for detail is extensive. Lionel will be overlooking your project from set out to handover liaising with trades and suppliers.

 

On weekends Lionel enjoys a round of golf, Outdoor time with a growing family, Camping and Shed time.


 

ASHLEY

ESTIMATOR / PROCUREMENT

Ashley has been a part of Blay Builders since 2017. With over 20 years of industry experience, 10 years in sales management and 12 years of business management specialising in supply chain, procurement and estimating, Ashley brings a level of professionalism and organisation to the team.

 

Ashley is responsible for developing pre-construction estimates and managing the target cost model through construction. He also manages the bidding of select projects, both materials as well as Sub Contractor submissions. His contacts throughout the building supply industry ensures that the team are abreast of current building trends and products that can personalise your custom home as well as add value.

 

When not at Blay Builders, Ashley enjoys spending time offshore fishing, Mountain biking, Wine appreciation and the Essendon Football club.
 

OFFICE ADMIN

JENNI

Jenni is a born and bred local who has been part of the Blay Builders team for 10 years.  Jenni is the first contact for clients visiting our showroom and with her friendly personality and good product knowledge, you are assured premium customer service.   

 

Jenni’s role is to apply for all building related permits and to assist customers throughout the build.  She has very strong work ethic and is a valuable resource to Blay Builders with her extensive administration and management experience, 31 years legal administration and Legal Practice Management, 12 months working in remote communities and two years managing a Building Permit company.

 

 Jenni is a Justice of the Peace and Legal Executive and has been involved in many community organisations over the years.  When not working, Jenni loves spending time with her family and friends, enjoying art & craft projects, walking, kayaking and travelling.

KRISTEN

SALES & MARKETING

Kristen joined the Blay Builders Team and family business in 2018.  While the construction side of the business is new to her, she has loved learning all about the industry and has a large variety of experience in Sales, Marketing and Human Resources from her past career paths.

 

Kristen works closely with the Sales Team to ensure they have the right processes and procedures available to bring together your new home or projects effectively and efficiently. Along with designing and developing projects for clients, Kristen also looks after all the Marketing aspects of the company and Social Media.

 

Kristen is passionate about supporting our Local Community and ensuring that Blay Builders and our family play a part in that community involvement.

 

In her spare time, Kristen loves spending time with her husband and two daughters camping and travelling as much as possible. She will never turn down time at the beach or a wine with friends. 
 

JEREMY

NEW HOME CONSULTANT & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Jeremy grew up in Sydney and completed his Cert III in Carpentry. In his mid 20's, Jeremy moved to East Gippsland for his now wife. 

Since moving down he has built a home and settled right in to the area.

 

Jeremy joined the Blay Builders team in 2019 and brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his carpentry background and a passion for designing homes. As a very approachable person, Jeremy's clients trust and feel comfortable with him when talking about and designing their dream home. 

In his free time, he likes to be with the family, build things in his shed, visit the beautiful beaches we have in summer and go Snowboarding at Mt Hotham in winter.

Jeremy loves that East Gippsland has the best of both worlds.

KATE

ACCOUNTS MANAGER

Kate has been a part of the Blay Builders team for 17 years. Kate's role includes payroll, bills and client accounts. Kate also looks after the business's financial and taxation obligations. Kate's bubbly personality makes her very approachable and she ensures we all get paid on time!!
