The Point

Designed by East Gippsland local and draftsperson, Tom Hardy, an exploration of sustainable, energy efficient and reusable materials was a major drive into this homes longevity.

With discussions consistently focused on how this home is not only going to suit the lives of our clients currently, with young children - adapt to growth with teenagers and when the time comes for their kids to fly the nest, the place needed to be functional for just mum & dad.

The combination of burnished concrete flooring, reclaimed red brick feature walls, ply ceilings and black accents amplifies the Industrial theme.

is a crowd favourite here at Blay Builders, and this home has walls of it - literally...

The entire hallway is guided by a double faced brick wall which creates a beautiful element in each of the bedrooms.
 

The kitchen island bench perfectly connects with the ply ceiling and is a very special piece of this home.

Our lovely clients built this benchtop themselves with recycled wall frame timber from their previous home that they renovated...


What a beautiful piece of heritage to bring from their special family place into this gorgeous new space.


Not only did they construct their bench out of this historical timber, but they created a matching family dining table too!

A very clever way of recycling materials and proves how driven this essence was at the forfront of their design minds for a long time.
 

The wet areas of the home, including the butlers pantry, as well as the kitchen back bench
are highlighted by the addition of custom concrete bench tops.

The exposed edges add character, texture & a unique finish, which leads to be a creation of a wabi sabi representation.

It truly speaks how thorough consideration was put into the design - "the home feels complete without a single piece of furniture inside."
